Novel Tech That Keeps You Cool

Opal Cool PCM-Phase Change Material

Opal Cool PCM Phase Change Material is safer and more effective in healing injuries.

Opal Cool products are made with plant-based cooling Phase Change Material (PCM) that is specially formulated to provide cooling relief at just the right temperature.

PCM is comfortably cool and much nicer than Ice! Unlike ice packs or gel-based coolers that start uncomfortably cold and then warm up quickly, Opal Cool’s PCM  products maintain a consistent, comfortable cooling temperature.  Even better - you can wear these directly on your skin.

What’s the magic? When Opal Cool’s PCM comes in direct contact with your skin, the cooling pods gradually pull heat away from your hot bod and begin to slowly melt, changing from a solid to liquid.  When the pods are completely clear, it’s time to remove and recool.  Great news: you can recool and reuse these over and over again!

Worry-free cooling.  You can recharge these in the fridge or freezer. When you place it on your skin the PCM quickly self-regulates to its skin-safe temp.

Safe, long-lasting, and comfortable cooling.   NO RISK OF ICE BURN OR FROST BITE – EVER!

Draws Heat Away to Relieve Pain

From the Doctor's Desk
Dr. Tracy Scheller, MD, FACOG, MBA, MS

SUMMARY: Patients who participated in a clinical study for menopause relief reported that the Cool Wrap is easy to use, comfortable to wear and provides immediate and lasting relief for their menopausal symptoms.

I love recommending non-invasive, non-pharmacological options to my patients including cold therapy for hot flashes. I have clinically tested cool therapy wraps and found them to be one of the most effective forms of natural relief for menopausal symptoms.

How Opal Cool Wrap Works

Why is Cold Therapy Beneficial for Hot Flashes?

A Natural Cool

The Opal Cool Wrap is scientifically designed for women with specially formulated phase change material that is safer and more comfortable to wear than ice or gel packs.

It can be worn directly on the skin, or over light clothing, and maintains a comfortable temperature of 58º F (15º C) for up to an hour. Adjustable straps conform comfortably to every woman’s body type.

Why Cold Therapy is Beneficial for Hot Flashes

Opal Cool Wrap provides targeted relief to the places where women are very receptive to cold therapy: the upper back and neck area, between the shoulders.

As women age and become perimenopausal, fluctuating, and ultimately decreased estrogen levels have a significant effect on the normal regulation of brown adipose tissue activity, contributing to core body temperature fluctuations, including hot flashes.

Cold therapy in areas associated with brown adipose tissue has been shown to produce a calming effect on hot flashes, while also providing comfort and soothing relief.

For women experiencing hot flashes, the Cool Wrap provides targeted relief to the places where women are very receptive to cold therapy: the upper back and neck area, between the shoulders. This area can perceive and regulate body temperature, and contains significant amounts of brown adipose tissue, a key tissue involved in heat generation (thermogenesis).

These changes in activity contribute to core body temperature fluctuations, including hot flashes, experienced by perimenopausal women.

Cold therapy in areas associated with brown adipose tissue has been shown to produce a calming effect on hot flashes, while also providing comfort and soothing relief for women during this time of transition.

As women age, the amount and activity of brown adipose tissue decreases in response to decreased estrogen levels experienced during menopause. This reduction in brown fat activity contributes to core body temperature fluctuations, including hot flashes, in menopausal women.

Cold therapy has been shown to produce a calming effect on hot flashes, while also providing comfort and soothing relief for women during this time of transition.

Women who participated in the study reported feeling positive results and a decrease in hot flashes within the first week, but achieved significant, and sometimes dramatic, benefits after four weeks of use with the following protocol.

In the U.S. alone, 6,000 women reach menopause every day.

That's over 2 million per year. Right now more than 20 million Americans are experiencing hot flashes, which can last from anywhere from two to 10 years.

And worse yet: a longitudinal Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation (SWAN) found that women with more frequent hot flashes had an 80% greater risk of heart attacks and strokes.

The Opal Cool Wrap has been clinically proven to reduce hot flashes in 70% of women.

In a study conducted by Dr. Tracy Scheller at the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine, women who wore a cool therapy wrap twice a day for four weeks reported a 53% reduction in their daily number of hot flashes.

Opal Cool Therapy delivers soothing comfort and is a safe, effective way to calm hot flashes.
